ABOUT

When climbing a mountain, every step is important!

Hello! I am a psychologist prof. dr. Nida Žemaitienė. On my professional path, I always strive to find the best solutions by combining science and practice. The main qualities that lead me on this path are openness, sincerity and faith in the inexhaustible possibilities of the human psyche. I am grateful to all my clients for the unique opportunity to search for answers and the best solutions together on this journey full of new discoveries.

Working together

In my therapeutic practice, I always choose the methods that are most suitable for a specific client and his/her problem. In my work, I rely on EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy), BEP (brief eclectic post-traumatic stress therapy) and other types and elements of trauma therapy. I constantly learn from experience and am interested in the inexhaustible human potential to grow and overcome difficulties.

I conduct trainings for psychologists, specialists in healthcare, education, social work and other fields, as well as representatives of various social groups on various topics of mental health, psychological trauma and coping with critical events, violence and suicide prevention.

NATURE OF WORK

I specialize in individual counseling and individual trauma therapy. I have many years of practical and scientific experience in helping adults and adolescents.

I can help with emotional distress, panic disorders, traumatic life situations, emotional crises, health problems, and the threat of suicide. I also consult with those seeking personal growth and strengthening psychological resilience.

EXPERIENCE

I graduated from Vilnius University (VU) in psychology and philology.

I obtained a doctorate in public health at Kaunas University of Medicine (KMU), later becoming an associate professor and professor.

When delving into scientific problems, I have never been far from practice.

I have worked with youth at school and in the field of healthcare for a long time.

I currently work as a professor at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and a psychologist at the Romuva Clinic.

I am a Crisis and Disaster Psychology Consultant for Eastern European countries

and a European certified psychologist in clinical and health fields.

I encourage you to start an internal change! Let’s get in touch.
