ABOUT
The beauty of life is in the ability to adjust yourself. (Leonidas Donskis)
Hello! I am Rasa Vaicekauskienė, a licensed psychologist. In my professional path, I am guided by curiosity, openness, courage, continuous learning, and respect for the client’s autonomy. Clients describe me as a warm, open specialist with humor. My mission and role as a psychologist is to increase the client’s hope and reduce the feeling of hopelessness.
Working together
When communicating with clients, I create an environment where it is safe, where the client can feel unconditionally accepted. This allows me to create a therapeutic relationship based on trust. I expect curiosity to learn from the client, courage to admit, and a desire to change.
The duration of working together depends on the severity of the problem and the client’s needs. I recommend attending consultations once a week, as long as it makes sense for the client.
During the first session, we get to know each other, take time to discuss the circumstances of the referral, previous consulting experience. We agree on working conditions, division of responsibilities. We begin to set consulting goals, try to define the client’s problem, discuss expectations. During subsequent sessions, we continue to strengthen the relationship, delve deeper into the problem, and look for possible solutions to it.
Why therapy?
A person starting therapy is often anxious, but he/she is not alone in this matter – I feel anxious too. After all, two strangers meet for the first time and embark on a journey, not knowing exactly where it will lead. What is clear is that there will be adventures, and together we will face them with more courage.
However, everyone who embarks on this journey deserves the opportunity to create a different life story, one that includes more hope, awareness, freedom to choose and the ability to take responsibility for their choices, deeper and more satisfying interpersonal relationships, and more confidence that all the necessary answers and resources are in the client’s own heart. All of this can be achieved through psychotherapy.
TYPE OF WORK
I specialize in supporting adults through integrated individual therapy. I can help on the path to healing with anxiety, depression, guilt, on the path to/through motherhood, self-realization, searching for the meaning of life, and career changes.
I would describe my therapy style as integrated, holistic. I am interested in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, existential, cognitive behavioral (CBT) psychotherapies and, depending on the client’s personality and problem, I choose the knowledge and skills that most contribute to understanding the problem and achieving the set goals.
In my practice, I rely on such basic methods as support, reflection, interpretation, working “here and now” – with what is happening between me and the client in the present moment, what is relevant and alive now. I believe that these techniques contribute to the creation of a therapeutic relationship and influence change.
EXPERIENCE
I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Vilnius University (VU).
I have been gaining work experience since 2019. I worked as a HR manager at Jacobs Douwe Egberts in the Baltic region,
and since 2020 – as a psychologist at the Romuva clinic.
I encourage you to start an inner change, I invite you to book a consultation. Let’s get in touch.
