ABOUT
It’s a shame not to seek help, it’s a shame not to seek help when you need it.
Hello! I am Simona Kušleikienė, a licensed psychiatrist. In my professional path, I am guided by openness, acceptance, compassion, understanding, support, and professional problem solving. Clients describe me as a listener, non-judgemental, and motivating.
A person who wants to visit a psychiatrist often thinks that going to the doctor will be used against them in some way – that after the consultation they will have problems renewing their driver’s license, that their colleagues or family members will find out, that they will receive medication and become addicted to medication.
I can reassure you, all of these are myths! I would like to encourage my future client and wish them to come and talk about their troubling problems. I can assure you that we will look for the best, most appropriate treatment methods and techniques for the current situation.
NATURE OF WORK
I consult adults. I can help with anxiety, sleep, affective (mood), activity and attention disorders, memory disorders – from mild cognitive impairment to dementia, as well as schizophrenia.
In my consultations, I rely on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) methods, psychopharmacotherapy (drug treatment).
In practice, I am most interested in anxiety and mood disorders, human memory processes, and healthy aging.
EXPERIENCE
In 2001, I obtained the qualification of a medical doctor at Kaunas University of Medicine (KMU),
In 2014, I completed a residency in psychiatry at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), and
In 2019, I completed the basics of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) there. I will continue my doctoral studies at Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) from 2020.
I have been gaining work experience since 2015. Before working at the “Romuva” clinic, I worked as a psychiatrist at LSMUL Kaunas clinics.
I am a member of the Lithuanian Psychiatric Association, the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), the European College of Sports Sciences (ECSS), and a lecturer at LSU.
I encourage you to start an internal change, I invite you to reserve a consultation time. Let’s get in touch.
